A Dirty Job - Fan Art by RampagingRoboToast A Dirty Job - Fan Art by RampagingRoboToast
I recently found myself re-reading Christopher Moore's book, A Dirty Job, and couldn't help but want to draw the poor, beleaguered Beta Male, Death Merchant, and Father.

I have to admit though, I definitely focused more on Charlie here, the rest was more of an afterthought (I had a seperate idea to draw Sophie a little older that I'm still mulling over).

Those of you who've read the book will recognize Charlie Asher, Sophie Asher, and the two hellhounds, Mohammed (on the left) and Alvin (around Charlie's feet).

Those of you who have NOT read the book... well, do yourselves a favor and look it up!

Were he to approach me himself I'd be flattered, though I don't consider this a particularly polished drawing. Certainly not something to be put in print without a considerable bit more work.

Regardless, I'll pass for the time being unless asked by him, himself.

Thanks anyway, though!

Just finished A Dirty Job for the 4th time. I love this book. Your illustration is delightful, though I think the hounds could use more drool.

The original pencil sketch has some dish soap laying next to a loaf of bread, but I never got around to adding it in.

I'd also considering drawing a welcome-home humping, but I'll save that for something to draw in public one day.

I somehow associated Charlie to be much younger but you really did a good job! I like this pic so much.
